Dermal filler treatment is a cosmetic procedure that plumps up facial lines and wrinkles to make the skin look more youthful. Fillers usually consist of sterile hyaluronic acid gels made from non-animal sources. As we age, the skin's natural hyaluronic acid is lost, giving rise to the appearance of lines, wrinkles and folds. Fillers are also used for lip enhancement and for shaping facial, hand and neck contours.
Here is how dermal filler treatment works:
Local anaesthetic is first administered to the area to prevent any discomfort.
The dermal filler is then injected, which only takes a few minutes.
The effect of the treatment is visible immediately.
Depending on the area treated, skin type and the injection technique, the filler effect can last between 6 and 12 months (usually six months for lips)
Follow-up treatments will help to maintain the plumped up look over time.
Smoothed out skin surface for a more youthful appearance.
Non-surgical and painless procedure.
If you want to reduce the lines on your face without having to resort to surgical procedures, the good news is that facial rejuvenation techniques can soften wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. The benefit of having this treatment done by dentists is that they have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the facial anatomy and can perform this delicate work in a precise and safe manner. Our practice uses the botulinum toxin type A for this treatment, an injectable aesthetic solution.
Here is how it works:
Once injected into the skin the botulinum toxin relaxes the tiny facial muscles, which cause expression lines, by blocking the nerve impulses in them, leaving the skin looking smoother.
Areas on the face that can be treated include frown lines (vertical lines which form between the eyebrows), eyebrows, crow's feet, forehead lines and lines around the mouth and top lip, known as 'smoker's lines'.
The injection is quick and painless, usually lasting around 5-10 minutes and requiring no anaesthetic. Results will usually be seen in a few days, sometimes taking between 4-7 days for the effects to be seen.
As this is not a permanent treatment, the effects will wear off over time. It is therefore possible for the procedure to be repeated every 3 months for effective results.
Reduced facial lines for more youthful appearance.
Non-surgical and painless procedure.
Tear Trough Rejuvenation
A string of late nights can leave us looking tired and our skin dull. Usually we can rectify this with some TLC and a good night’s sleep. But what do we do when those under-eye bags just won’t go away?
Unfortunately for a lot of people, the area directly under the eyes (tear troughs) can become very hollow. This can be either through a breakdown of collagen or for genetic reasons. The result; a permanently tired and aged appearance.
Dr Nora uses the administration of dermal filler, to do what the name suggests and ‘fills’ the tear troughs area. This successfully smooths the surface and gives the face a beautifully rejuvenated look. This treatment can sometimes be used in conjunction with cheek fillers, for a fully hydrated and rejuvenated appearance.
What can I expect on the day of treatment?
On arrival to your appointment, we will remove any makeup and the area will be cleansed/sanitised. To ensure the treatment is as pain-free as possible, we can apply a topical anaesthetic to the injection sites (although generally these procedures only come with very minimal discomfort).
To keep swelling and bruising to a minimum, we administer the product with the use of the cannula. A little discomfort is not uncommon. However, if you feel particularly sensitive, we are able to administer a local anaesthetic (although in most cases this is not necessary).
Your appointment will last for around 30 minutes. This allows time for the cleansing of the skin, numbing and the treatment itself.
How soon, after treatment can I expect to see results?
The beauty of this procedure and product, is that the results take effect immediately. Furthermore, results actually continue to develop over the course of the month, as your own natural collagen is stimulated. The effects are long-lasting, non-permanent and reversible. Due to this, most of our patients will return for a top up, every 6-12 months.
The nose is the central feature of your face and if it is out of proportion or ‘crooked’, then your self-esteem can really suffer.
For years, the only successful way to treat the nose in order to achieve a more symmetrical or aesthetically pleasing look, was through a surgical procedure – rhinoplasty.
With the amazing and permanent results that come from a surgical treatment, comes the inevitable downsides: severe pain, a long period of downtime and a dent to the wallet. That’s where the ‘non-surgical rhinoplasty’ procedure comes in.
These results can be achieved with dermal filler. Even with noses that appear to be ‘too big’ as a result of the classic protruding bridge, placing filler to give the illusion that the nose is more petite and in proportion with the rest of the facial features.

Thread lifting (otherwise known as the ‘non-surgical facelift’) is fast becoming a preferred treatment by our patients due to it’s effectiveness and non-invasive nature.
The threads that we use here at the clinic are known as PDO (polydioxanone) threads. These threads are a suture like material that are used to lift the sagging of the skin around the face and neck area (hence, the ‘non-surgical facelift’).
The threads are placed carefully into the skin to lift and rejuvenate the face, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
What to expect on the day
Before your treatment, any make up will be removed and we will cleanse the area. We use a topical and a local anaesthetic on the treatment area to minimise any discomfort (which is minimal anyway). The product is placed using a cannula which helps to keep swelling and bruising to a minimum.
The treatment itself can take up to 30-45 minutes depending on what area is being treated (whole face, neck, etc).
How long do the effects last for?
These threads can stay in the skin for up to 6 months. However, the lifting effect that comes with threads is actually long-lasting, as the threads encourage the tissues in your face to produce new collagen, which may last for up to 2 years.
Is this treatment for me?
Thread lifting is becoming more and more popular, if you have a slight sagging of the skin for example around the jowl area and would like a more lifted appearance then this treatment gives you all the benefits of a facelift without the risk of surgery. We do offer other anti-ageing treatments, including laser treatments (Skin Tightening, ClearLift® etc) and anti-wrinkle injections (commonly referred to as ‘botox).
If you are looking for anti-ageing or anti-wrinkle treatments but are not sure which option is best for you, simply book a consultation with us and we’ll work with you to create a bespoke treatment plan to match your desires.
Injectable Hair Rejuvenation
Dr Nora provides the complete anti-hair loss regimen for hormonal and non-hormonal hair loss in both men and women.
If you suffer with loss of or thinning of hair, we offer an effective hair rejuvenation treatment. Using PRP, PluryalMesoline HAIR® and PluryalMesoline ANTIOX®, this treatment is a powerful cocktail of scientifically proven agents that works to reduce the causes of hair loss.
PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) is a found within our blood and can be used to stimulate hair growth as it contains growth factors which enables our bodies to heal and regenerate.
PluryalMesoline HAIR contains ingredients that are designed for the treatment of Androgenic Alopecia (hormonal hair loss).
PluryalMesoline ANTIOX contains antioxidants, amino acids and minerals designed for the treatment of Telogen Effluvium (non-hormonal hair loss).
To be able to extract the PRP from your body we will need to collect a small amount of blood from your arm, similar to a routine blood test. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds which allows the platelets to separate from the other blood cells.
Along with the PRP, the Pluryal® products are then delivered to the affected area through a series of painless injections.
Duration of procedure:
Does it hurt?
In short, no. We can use a topical anaesthetic on the injection sites, however most of the time this is not necessary as the method we use has little to no discomfort.
Are there any side effects?
This treatment comes with minimal bruising (if any) and no downtime. You may experience some soreness on the day of the treatment but this will subside.
How long until I can see results?
The treatment is designed to stop hair loss from the first treatment. However, please note, your hair will still need to regrow, which can take time depending on your hair cycle at the time.
How many sessions do I need?
For maximum results, recommend that you have 1 session per month for 3 consecutive months.
We also recommend to repeat this treatment after 6 months, to help maintain results.
